The Role
Vista is seeking a Senior HR Manager to provide hands-on leadership across the full HR function, serving as a knowledgeable, responsive resource for leaders, employees, and your team while managing the day-to-day with care and consistency.
This role calls for an experienced HR professional with a strong generalist foundation, proven managerial skills and a genuine commitment to the employee experience. We are looking for someone who is current on HR best practices and employment law, thinks in terms of service and process improvement, and brings both the judgment to handle complex situations and the attention to detail that everyday HR work demands. You will report to the VP of Business Operations & Administrative Services and partner closely with the CEO, Finance, and program leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a reliable, knowledgeable HR resource, providing clear guidance and timely support across the full range of day-to-day needs
- Manage employee relations matters at all levels including performance coaching, conflict resolution, investigations, corrective action, and separations
- Administer leave and accommodation processes (FMLA, Connecticut leave programs, ADA,) accurately and in compliance with applicable requirements
- Oversee a broad range of other HR related processes including performance management, worker’s compensation, unemployment, training and development and compensation planning and analysis.
- Maintain employment law compliance; own the compliance calendar, internal audits, and policy administration
- Support payroll processes and partner on compensation and benefits administration to ensure accuracy and timely execution
- Ensure hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes are consistent, compliant, and reflect well on the organization
- Strengthen HR systems, reporting, and workflows through HRIS oversight, metrics, SOPs, and cross-training
- Lead, coach, and develop HR team members with a focus on building a function defined by responsiveness, quality, and strong employee experience
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with a strong generalist foundation;
- 2–4 years of supervisory or lead responsibility for HR staff with demonstrated ability to effectively mentor and develop others
- Working knowledge of payroll processes and HRIS/payroll platforms
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations and leave and accommodation administration
- Strong and current knowledge of federal and Connecticut employment law and HR best practices
- A commitment to service. Responsive and consistent with employees and leaders at all levels, regardless of the complexity of the request
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, high integrity, and sound judgment
- Strong attention to detail and follow through
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience; nonprofit or human services background preferred

Salary Range: $90,000 - $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience
