- Human Resources Manager
Description
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing and executing day-to-day HR operations in support of a mission-driven, people centered organization. This role serves as a trusted resource to employees and supervisors, ensuring consistent, compliant, and equitable HR practices across the organization.
The HR Manager partners with leadership to support talent management, employee relations, and organizational culture.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment, Onboarding, and Retention
- Manage full-cycle recruitment processes including job postings, screening, interview coordination, and communication with candidates.
- Partner with directors and the CAO to support hiring decisions and offers.
- Manage onboarding and orientation to ensure a smooth and consistent new hire experience.
Performance Management
- Coordinate the annual performance evaluation process and ensure consistency across teams.
- Provide guidance to supervisors on performance management, feedback, and improvement planning.
- Monitor completion and quality of evaluations and follow-up actions.
Employee Relations and Support
- Serve as a confidential and accessible resource for employees.
- Support routine employee relations matters and provide guidance on HR policies and practices.
- Assist with investigations, accommodations, and grievance processes in partnership with the CAO.
- Support the employee benefits administration, and open enrollment process.
Policy, Compliance, and Documentation
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures and the employee handbook in collaboration with the CAO.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate employee records and documentation.
- Coordinate employee benefits’ selection, enrollment and changes in collaboration with the CAO.
Training and Development
- Coordinate required staff training (e.g., onboarding, policy refreshers, supervisory training).
- Assist in implementing professional development opportunities aligned with organizational needs
Culture & Engagement
- Support implementation of employee engagement initiatives, including surveys and feedback processes.
- Administer staff engagement surveys.
- Analyze feedback and recommend improvements.
- Lead organizations employee HR engagement group.
HR Data & Reporting
- Track and maintain basic HR metrics (e.g., turnover, hiring activity training completion, engagement).
- Use data to identify trends and inform recommendations.
- Ensure proper employee documentation and recordkeeping.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required (Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, or related field preferred).
3-5 years of progressive HR experience, including hands-on experience in employee relations, performance management, and HR operations (required).
Demonstrated experience advising managers and handling sensitive employee issues (required).
Experience supporting or leading HR processes in a small to mid-sized organization (preferred).
Working knowledge of employment laws and compliance requirements.
Experience managing multiple HR functions independently.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
