Position Overview
We are currently recruiting for a full-time Human Resources Generalist to join our team. Working collaboratively within the Human Resources team, this role serves as a key point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries and supports recruitment, onboarding, training coordination, human resources administration, and HR projects aligned with the organization’s strategic plan.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of human resources best practices, and the ability to manage shifting priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. This role contributes to initiatives that enhance processes, support strategic priorities, and strengthen the employee experience in alignment with the Centre’s Guest Experience Promise.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment, including posting, pre-screening, and interviewing, while collaborating with hiring managers on workforce planning
- Lead onboarding coordination by managing new hire documentation and partnering with departments to ensure a smooth and engaging employee experience from day one
- Facilitate new hire orientation sessions and provide ongoing support to employees as they transition into their roles
- Support training and development initiatives through coordination and administration of internal and external learning opportunities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files, prepare reports, and assist with tracking performance management processes and documentation
- Serve as a key point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, and collective agreement interpretation, providing guidance and escalating matters as appropriate
- Support employee relations by assisting with investigations, documentation, and resolution of workplace concerns in alignment with company policies and legislation
- Contribute to the development and delivery of employee engagement initiatives, programs, and special projects that support a positive and inclusive workplace culture
- Support the administration, maintenance, and enhancement of the HRIS system, including maintaining data integrity, generating reports, improving system utilization, and assisting with system enhancements and new HR technology implementations
- Assist in monitoring HR metrics and preparing reports to support data-driven decision-making
- Ensure HR practices remain compliant with applicable employment standards, labour legislation, and internal policies
Requirements
Education and Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an HR Generalist or Coordinator role
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Working knowledge of labour legislation and human resources best practices
- Strong interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at various levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and experience working with HRIS platforms
- Adaptable team player with a high degree of initiative
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously and shifting priorities as needed
- Experience working in a unionized environment and familiarity with collective agreements is considered a strong asse
Work Environment
This is an on-site position, requiring the successful candidate to work in the office full-time.
