Position: Human Resources Coordinator
Travel: Travel required to visit project jobsites and other offices for onboarding and employee relations
We are currently seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. The Human Resources Coordinator provides essential administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team, with a focus on field operations. This role supports the hiring and onboarding process, assists with accurate data entry, responds to employee inquiries, and plays a key role in maintaining compliance and positive employee experience.
This position reports directly to the Director of Human Resources
This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
Wagman is a multi-faceted construction firm with operations in heavy civil, general construction and geotechnical construction services. Founded in 1902, Wagman is a fourth-generation family-owned company with offices in Pennsylvania and Virginia.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Bi-lingual, Spanish-speaking strongly preferred
• Organized with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in maintaining confidential and sensitive information
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize across multiple tasks to meet deadlines
• Ability to act with integrity and professionalism
• Must be a team player
• Ability to travel to job sites and career fairs as needed (at least 25%)
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred
Experience:
• 0-3 years of experience required
• Experience working with a diverse employee population required
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite required
• Experience working in construction preferred
Essential Functions:
• Support recruitment for Wagman Heavy Civil, Inc. and Wagman Construction, Inc.
• Draft job postings and share them through the applicant tracking system and other posting sites (Indeed.com, LinkedIn, CareerLink, JobTarget, etc.)
• Monitor applications and screen candidates, coordinating interviews with hiring managers as appropriate
• Attend career fairs at colleges, military bases, and other outreach facilities
• Conduct new hire orientation in the field
• Assist in managing and uploading new hire paperwork, including I-9 and tax forms
• Maintain timely and accurate data entry of new hire and employee information into the HR system
• Track employee certifications, ensuring updated records are maintained in the HR system
• Provide basic employee relations support to the field, escalating more complex issues as appropriate
• Support employee engagement and DEI activities
• Support the annual open enrollment process, educating employees and responding to questions
• Support project work and other general HR tasks as needed
