As our organization continues to grow, we're looking for a motivated Human Resources Assistant to support a wide range of HR initiatives while gaining valuable hands-on experience across recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, HR technology, and compliance. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping people succeed. Whether you are beginning your HR career, recently graduated, or looking to expand your HR experience, this role provides an excellent foundation for future growth in Human Resources and People Operations.
What You'll Do
As a Human Resources Assistant, you'll support daily HR operations and strategic initiatives that help attract, develop, and retain top talent across Pisces Healthcare Solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with recruitment and talent acquisition activities, including:
- Posting job openings
- Screening resumes
- Scheduling interviews
- Coordinating candidate communications
- Support new hire onboarding and orientation activities.
- Prepare onboarding documentation and ensure a positive employee experience.
- Maintain and update employee records within the HRIS system (Paylocity).
- Assist with policy acknowledgements, compliance tracking, and employee documentation.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, company events, and internal communications.
- Assist with HR reporting, audits, data entry, and recordkeeping.
- Provide administrative support for HR projects, policy updates, and process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with training material preparation and HR program implementation.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling employee information.
- Support special projects and additional HR initiatives as assigned.
Requirements:
What You Bring
- Currently pursuing a degree at a Virginia Public or Private University or College in:
- Human Resources
- Business Administration
- Psychology
- Or a related field
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources or People Operations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Experience with HRIS systems or applicant tracking systems is a plus.

Physical Requirements
- Extended periods of sitting and computer use.
