Employers Resource is a leading California based Human Resource Administration company specializing in helping organizations navigate the complex landscape of federal, state and local employment regulations.
This position is based in San Marcos, CA with an opportunity for a hybrid telework schedule.
We are seeking an experienced Human Resource Generalist to join our team and support the delivery of comprehensive HR programs for our clients. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws, along with proven experience in employment practices, employee relations, and HR best practices.
As a Human Resource Generalist, you will manage a wide range of HR functions, from hiring and onboarding to performance support. Key responsibilities include organizing training initiatives, administering employee benefits, managing leaves of absence and developing and maintaining HR policies and procedures. You will utilize Human Resources Information Systems to ensure accurate and up-to-date employee records.
In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for our clients' executive and management teams, as well as their valued employees, addressing HR related questions and providing expert guidance to support compliant and effective workplace practices.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Implements human resources programs and delivers a full range of HR services, including newhire onboarding and orientation, compensation administration, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, and the completion of personnel transactions.
- Develops effective human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing data, identifying trends, and recommending appropriate courses of action.
Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying issues; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected actions; and providing coaching and counseling to managers and employees. - Manages client expectations by communicating project status and issues, resolving concerns, and preparing clear and timely reports.
Responds to employmentrelated inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive matters to appropriate leadership or subjectmatter experts as needed. - Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and workplace investigations in a professional, compliant, and objective manner.
- Maintains current knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies related to human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Protects organizational value by maintaining confidentiality of sensitive employee, client, and company information.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws by monitoring existing and new legislation, anticipating regulatory changes, communicating impacts to clients, and advising management on required actions.
- Enhances professional knowledge and effectiveness by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, engaging with professional organizations, and attending relevant webinars and training sessions.
Requirements
Successful candidates will possess:
Certified (PHR) and/or SHRM-CP
Four-year degree or relevant field experience
Great interpersonal and small group communication skills
Professional appearance and demeanor
General proficiency with applicable laws/regulations.
Prior experience in policy/procedure development
Prior experience with training and presentations
Ability to consult with business owners, C level executives and key personnel
Strong knowledge of federal, state and municipal leave law interactions
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work successfully with diverse personalities.
Ability to be on-site at the home office in San Marcos, CA is required.
