Description
HR & Payroll Coordinator Location: Onsite - Portland, OR Schedule: Monday-Friday | Full-Time Pay Rate: $26.00 - $28.50/hour DOE Status: Contract-to-Hire Benefits Upon Conversion to Permanent Hire:- 100% employer-paid medical premiums

A client of LHH Recruitment is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable HR & Payroll Coordinator to support day-to-day human resources and payroll operations. This is an onsite, contract-to-hire opportunity with strong long-term potential for growth and stability. The ideal candidate brings hands-on HR and payroll experience, exceptional attention to detail, and a service-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and on time; review employee time records, adjustments, and deductions
- Support HR operations including onboarding, employee records management, and HRIS updates
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to payroll, benefits, and basic HR policies
- Assist with benefits administration, enrollments, and employee changes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee files and documentation
- Partner with HR and leadership on audits, reporting, and process improvements
- Assist with special HR projects as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree required (Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred)
- 2+ years of HR and payroll experience ideal
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally
- Comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Proficient with HRIS and payroll systems
