Innovar Group is seeking a Director, Human Resources — Business Operations for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Broomfield, Colorado. This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on HR leader who has supported complex, multi-site operations and can partner closely with business leaders to align people strategies with operational goals.
This person will serve as a key HR advisor across multiple business functions and locations, providing leadership in employee relations, workforce planning, talent management, compliance, engagement, organizational development, and HR program execution. This position requires someone who can operate at both a strategic and tactical level while building trusted partnerships with leadership while also supporting consistent HR practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a strategic HR partner to business and operational leaders, advising on workforce planning, employee relations, organizational development, performance management, and talent strategies.
Support multi-site HR operations, ensuring consistent application of HR policies, programs, and best practices across locations.
Partner with leadership to develop and implement people strategies that support employee engagement, retention, productivity, and business performance.
Provide guidance and support on complex employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, and performance concerns.
Support talent management initiatives, including succession planning, leadership development, performance review processes, and employee development planning.
Track, analyze, and report on HR metrics such as turnover, retention, absenteeism, engagement, workforce trends, and other key performance indicators.
Partner with leaders to identify workforce gaps, recommend staffing strategies, and support organizational planning.
Help standardize HR processes, policies, and communications to improve consistency, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Support change management initiatives, including organizational restructuring, process improvements, new HR programs, and business transformation efforts.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders on compensation planning, wage progression, employee engagement, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
Partner with safety and operational leaders to support a proactive culture of compliance, accountability, and employee well-being.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
Provide hands-on HR support to leaders and employees while maintaining a strong understanding of business needs and operational priorities.
Required Qualifications
Five years' experience in a Human Resources Business Partner role supporting multi-site or regional business operations.
Experience partnering directly with senior leadership, operational leaders, and site-level management.
Strong employee relations background, including investigations, performance management, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
Experience supporting workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, employee engagement, and retention strategies.
Proven ability to use HR metrics and workforce data to identify trends, recommend improvements, and support business decisions.
Strong understanding of employment law, HR compliance, and consistent policy application across multiple locations.
Experience supporting change management, organizational development, and HR program implementation.
Ability to balance strategic HR leadership with hands-on execution.
Strong communication, coaching, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to travel to business locations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, operations, construction, industrial, or other multi-site workforce environments.
Experience working with both exempt and non-exempt employee populations.
Union and non-union employee relations experience.
Experience supporting safety-focused environments and partnering with operations on compliance initiatives.
Experience with HRIS systems, performance management platforms, or HR process improvement initiatives.
Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, integrations, or major organizational change initiatives.
