As the Human Resources Leader, Corporate Learning and Development (CL&D), you will have the opportunity to use your Learning and Development (L&D) expertise to make a lasting difference in the corporation and for our employees. Working with a team of L&D experts, you will provide strategic leadership to shape and evolve the maturity of CL&D and its programs, processes, and resources that have applications across the corporation. Making a high-profile impact, you will influence culture change and performance improvement across The City and maximize learning and development investments. Primary duties include:

  • Lead an engaging and healthy work environment for a team of CL&D professionals and program coordinators supporting a suite of CL&D programs.
  • Further develop CL&D to meet the needs of an evolving organization.
  • Align and integrate Corporate Learning and Development strategy and programs to support The City’s strategic plan and the culture of The City.
  • Support corporate talent development processes such as performance planning and development, performance coaching, and mentoring.
  • Respond to client needs for new learning programs to address a variety of audiences and provide diverse learning journeys to nurture both a growth and leadership mindset.
  • Leverage technologies to support alternative delivery models for learning and development.
  • Manage the supply process for engaging vendors who will deliver learning programs and resources.
  • Stay current on trends, innovations, systems, and best learning and development practices; look for opportunities to use this knowledge to ensure appropriate linkage to the corporate learning and development framework and advance the CL&D agenda at The City.
  • Act as the Human Resource (HR) business liaison on learning projects sponsored by other business units.
  • Work to identify performance measures and metrics to demonstrate effective and efficient service delivery related to HR’s learning and development investments.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • A related degree plus at least 6 years of progressively more senior human resources experience with a focus on learning and development including supervisory experience in managing a L&D function. Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
  • A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) will be considered an asset.
  • The successful candidate must have the ability to mature CL&D, and effectively guide and direct program development, evaluation, and sustainment.
  • Your interpersonal skills along with political sensitivity will enable you to effectively influence and collaborate across the organization in addition your ability to manage ambiguity.
  • This position requires a strategic thinker with the expertise to lead people and manage programs, budgets, projects, and internal and external vendor business relationships.

Compensation: Level F $91,425 - 140,027 per annum

Days of Work: This position works a 5 day

work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
