The Vice President of Human Resources will have a significant impact on our organization, adding value as a member of the organization’s leadership team by developing innovative and culturally appropriate human resources policies and programs for the organization’s staff across all venues and locations. 

The successful candidate will serve as a key member of the executive team as a trusted advisor to provide strategic and operational leadership on all aspects of the HR function. He/she will seamlessly and imperceptibly establish processes and policies that enable the creative forces within the company to thrive, while ensuring a best-in-class place to work.

The VP, HR will have a big picture perspective and lead all aspects of the human resources function delivering efficient HR services including, but not limited to, interpreting and applying HR policies; advising senior management on human resources issues; compensation evaluations including bonus and merit review planning; talent acquisition, performance management; organizational and management development; employee relations; oversee compliance with all state and federal employment and labor laws; develop comprehensive policies and procedures and provide training accordingly; employee coaching; orientation, training, benefits, safety and health, assisting with at-will contract negotiations; headcount/budget analysis,

The VP, HR will also provide a sense of structure, consistency and equity within the workplace; and oversee human resources management across the organization. 


  • Partner with and become a trusted advisor to the executive team, ensuring there is a clear and effective talent strategy, serving the needs of the business and the organization’s development as Elevate Entertainment evolves and grows. 
  • Grow the company’s capability through a strategic HR approach that is completely aligned with the business strategy. 
  • Identify the tools and practices to surface and solve opportunities related to leadership, management, performance and team composition (organizational design, optimal mix of skill set and mindset, cost structure), and play a key role in assisting the leaders in identifying and solving talent acquisition, retention and engagement on the team.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, promotions, job changes, leaves of absence, relocations, immigration issues, terminations, and the exit process.
  • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources functions (e.g., CA Wage and Hour Law, OSHA, EEO, ERISA, etc.); proactively monitor exposure, anticipate issues, provide overall risk management and further develop a culture of compliance. 
  • Partner with client group and Legal as needed on hiring Independent Contractors and freelancers, including reviewing and determining proper classification. 
  • Manage annual performance review process, including reviewing all performance reviews and counseling management on effective ways to evaluate and communicate job performance to employee.
  • Partner with the executive team on annual bonus and salary planning processes; salary recommendations for new hires, promotions and equity adjustments; and usage of other performances bonus program to reward strong performers.
  • Provide guidance and support to management on re-orgs/restructures and acquisitions.
  • Partner with the leadership team and finance on headcount, budgets, restructures, freelance and temp costs, and strategic planning of new business growth.
  • Support employee engagement and culture work. 

The ideal candidate will be an energetic, proactive and strategic, yet hands-on, self-starter who will foster a high-performance culture and build, over time, a best-in-class HR function for a global organization.


  • Seeking 7+ years of strategic HR leadership experience: Depth and breadth of experience across HR including talent acquisition, talent management and development, employee relations, compensation & benefits, HRIS, HR operations, executive coaching, and workforce training with a history of successfully supporting P&L leaders as a business partner. 
  • Start-up DNA: Willing to roll up sleeves, do foundational work and test new approaches. Able to deftly prioritize. Comfortable with ambiguity – unhindered by change and uncertainty and can methodically work through complex problems
  • Business and commercial acumen: Deep understanding of the sector and competitive forces at work. High analytical skills with keen understanding of financial metrics and how they link to people initiatives.
  • Integration expertise: Demonstrated experience successfully integrating acquisitions in a seamless and culturally- sensitive manner. 
  • Experience in entertainment or technology businesses: Exposure working in a fast-paced entertainment or tech sector in a high growth environment.

  5. Confidence and self-awareness with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. A high impact presence – capable of quickly establishing credibility, influencing constituencies and persuading professionals at all levels.
