Utility Construction Company | Eastern Panhandle, WV

We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Human Resources Director to support a growing utility construction company with approximately 100 employees. This role is ideal for a practical, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, field-driven environment and is comfortable supporting both office and field operations.

Requirements

Key Qualifications   

• Proven experience in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding employees in construction or similar industries
•  Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and benefits administration
•  Working knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements
•  Experience supporting field employees and supervisors
•  Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  

Responsibilities 

• Lead full-cycle recruiting for field and office positions (operators, laborers, CDL drivers, etc.)
• Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and employee support
• Manage workers’ compensation and insurance claims, coordinating with carriers and employees
• Ensure compliance with job site safety requirements, policies, and reporting
• Coordinate and schedule required training (safety, certifications, DOT compliance, etc.)
• Maintain DOT compliance, including driver qualification files and related documentation
• Advise management on HR policies, employee relations, and performance issues
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
• Promote and support a positive, safety-focused workplace culture
