Homestead Co-op is hiring a Human Resources Manager to join our team. The HR Manager can be based out of either of our Administration Offices in Carman or Portage la Prairie, MB.

What you’ll do:
Reporting to the General Manager, you will serve as a strategic partner, leading HR strategy, programs, policy development, and process implementation for Homestead Coop. Including:
Leading all talent management practices including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, employee development, succession planning, workforce planning, compensation/benefits, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, health & safety, employee and labour relations, change management, and organizational effectiveness.
- Providing leadership to the Human Resources team of professionals.
- Collaborating with the Homestead Coop leaders to ensure consistent HR practices across all areas.
- Partnering closely with the General Manager to provide advice on people practices.
- Developing HR policies that support key organizational activities and programs.
- Assisting in collective bargaining activities, participating in negotiations, and providing guidance for effective grievance handling and arbitration preparation.
- Contributing to a workplace culture built on Trust, Teamwork, and Support.

Homestead Co-op serves more than 27,000 members — and many more customers — in Austin, Carman, La Salle, MacGregor, Oakville, Portage la Prairie & Treherne. We have 17 locations including Food Stores, Gas Bars, Car Washes, Pharmacies, Liquor Stores, Cardlocks, Home Centres and an Agricultural site. Last year, we contributed over $154,000 to community organizations and initiatives.
Requirements
Who you are:
You are looking to continue your career in Human Resources and:
- Have 8+ years of experience in Human Resources, bringing a deep understanding of HR policies and practices, with a minimum of 2-4 years leading a team.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources or Business Administration. A CPHR designation (or working toward it) considered an asset (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
- Have strong relationshipbuilding skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Have experience developing, implementing, and supporting talent management programs within unionized environments.
- Have the proven ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities with a high level of accountability.
